09 January 1963 - A group of 3500 farmers from Tehran by the name of “The Great Congress of Farmers” came together. In a speech to the congress, Shah announced his six-point social reform plan which was later approved in a referendum and took the name: “White Revolution.” On such a day I was born in a tub in the city of Harat. My father was a diplomat in the Iranian Consulate in Afghanistan and my mother a house wife. Apparently this picture was taken by an Afghan photographer and is one of the few pictures that remain from the time of my early childhood.
