The United Arab Emirates have invested about 60 billion dollars in projects such as: expanding of airports, buying and leasing modern aircraft, as well as launching new airlines. Dubai’s share of these investments is over 40 billion dollars. Emirates Airlines alone spent over 9 billion dollars during the past year to buy 42 Boeing 777s, and has assets in excess of 36 billion dollars. The Dubai International Airport is the busiest among all Arab airports. Last year, about three and a half million people used this airport. This number will reach 70 million by the year 2012. There are also plans to construct another great airport in Jebel Ali which will increase the final capacity too over 100 million people a year, which is very unique.
